My site receives over 1 million page views per day and Google analytics doesn't guarantee your data will post correctly for that much traffic so I went looking for alternatives and found Piwik.
2 days ago (April 2, 2013) I setup Piwik on Arvixe (their recommended provider) but it doesn't seem to be working right. The first and second day it seemed to be tracking correctly, but then I lost the data for yesterday, and today's data doesn't show up either. It is already using 571 mb of MySQL disk space, which doesn't seem sustainable.
Is there a way to run Piwik in ultra lean mode? I really just want this to track unique visitors, page views, and be able to break it down by geo. Everything else is just nice to have. I definitely don't need real time stats.
I did follow the instructions for large installations by having it update once per hour and installed a cron to archive once per day. I am not sure if the cron is working though.
